
Dr. Lassa qualified as a medical doctor in Nigeria and moved to the United Kingdom in 2008. He holds a Masters in Public Health (with distinction) and PhD in health and health related research from the University of Sheffield, UK.
He has worked in the UK for over 12 years in acute medicine, geriatric medicine, spinal rehabilitation, pediatrics and later completed his post graduate training in family medicine as an NHIR Clinical fellow. Prior to joining the Niagara Region, he worked in the UK as a family medicine practitioner, clinical trials principal investigator in an NHIR award winning research team while being a lecturer and visiting facilitator in primary care and global health research for various institutions. He has several publications focusing on health systems and service delivery.
He has special interest in dementia care, pediatrics and mental health. He is a kind, passionate and family-oriented doctor who is committed to providing patient-centered care.
